Valencia CF goes eight games unbeaten
A positive run of form marked by the ‘Mestalla factor’ and the team’s great effort and hard work
Toni Lato returns to one of the key stadiums of his LaLiga so far. Mendizorroza is where he scored his first league goal, back in June when on loan at Osasuna.
The strike came in the 63rd minute, as the fullback joined the attack, latched onto a rebound and, without thinking twice, smashed the ball into the Deportivo Alavés net with a powerful left-footed shot.
That goal gave victory to his team and was an important step towards them earning top flight survival. For Lato, it also put behind him a series of especially hard months, in which his hard work and sacrifice were not rewarded with opportunities during a spell on loan to PSV Eindhoven.
Now an established member of the Valencia CF first team, the VCF Academy product returns to the scene of one of his best moments to date, and will look to help take the club further up the LaLiga table with a second win in a row.
